44th SAMURAI Classic Golf Tournament by Steven Teruya, Co-Chair, Ways and Means Committee

On behalf of Tournament Co-Chairs, Marc Nakamoto [Sodexo] and Larry Ishii [American Savings Bank] we thank you for your participation in the playing of the 44th SAMURAI Classic Golf Tournament.
It was truly a team effort with so many people to thank from pre-planning and then having everything fall into place on tournament day, including nice weather. 
What started off as a pandemic limited tournament to 100-golfers turned out to be a more expanded tournament maxing out at 148-players.  Mahalo to HJCC member company Hawaii Prince Golf Club and their staff and the Bird of Paradise Restaurant staff for the tremendous support of our tournament. Mahalo to the HJCC staff, Mai Shiomi, Merilyn Oda & Mina Sakai, the “back-bone” of our organization and to the core committee volunteers, Rick Mishima, Craig Okamura, Debbie Uetake, Greg Kawakami David Miyasato and Kacie Hirotsu.  We were also blessed to have members call to volunteer allowing us to have more than adequate manpower for the day.  Mahalo Kristin Alm-Kamakahi for bringing the 69th Cherry Blossom Festival Queen and Court that handled player registration and the bento & player’s gift distribution.
